Market for the Strange was created to make space for the growing alternative art scene around Salem, Oregon. A place where the unusual is welcome, where the odd ones fit in, and where visitors can walk away with a little bit of the unexpected.
We host a monthly pop-up art market in western Oregon. We alternate event locations between Salem and surrounding cities.

We started Market for the Strange in February of 2023, and within a year grew to be one of Salem's biggest art markets. We couldn't have done it without the enthusiasm and support from the 200+ artists and creators and the thousands of visitors that make up our Strange community. We're done for this year, but check back in January for details on our first 2024 show in February.

Gothic leathers? Witchy outfits? Characterful costumes? Whatever your vibe is, we're happy to help you celebrate it. Many of our visitors show up to show off their strange fashions, so don't hesitate to pull that special getup out of your closet and show us what you've got!
